What is it?
We refer to an outpatient surgical procedure (ambulatory procedure) when the hospitalization lasts only one day. The duration is variable from a few hours to a full day.
You will not be able to drive home and it is better if someone comes to pick you up.
You should not spend the night alone.
Pre-Admission
You must complete your pre-admission before your anesthesia consultation.
This process must be carried out via the Internet on the dedicated site .
If you can’t do it online, you can do your pre-admission on the ground floor of the clinic. To do so, you will need to bring your health insurance card and your health insurance card.
Remember to specify if you want to be in a single room!
Anesthesia consultation
You must have had an anesthetic consultation at least 48 hours before the surgery.
Otherwise, unless there is an emergency, your operation will probably be postponed. Within the clinic, you can make an appointment on the doctolib website or contact the secretary directly at 01 30 97 49 09.
Consent
You must send the practice the “informed consent” form as well as the additional fee” if there is one at least 10 days before your intervention.
You can send it to Corinne by email, mail or fax.
Laboratory
You will need to have a blood test in the laboratory before your procedure.
Pharmacy
You will need to buy compression stockings that are essential for any intervention.
In addition, if you are operated on in outpatient surgery, you will need to buy “Red Betadine”. It is also our standard practice at the office to provide you with discharge medications prescription in advance so that you do not have to make any further visits after your procedure.
The day before
You will have to take a Betadine shower at home the day before in the evening and the same in the morning of the procedure.
Arrival Time
If you are undergoing outpatient surgery, you will receive different messages.
You will also receive a text message from the Clinic indicating the time at which you are expected by the Ambulatory Service.
In the case of a hospitalization the day before, entries are made between 3 pm and 6 pm.
The day of the procedure
You must take a shower with red Betadine (prescription attached), the whole body, the day before and the morning of your procedure.
Remember to bring your imaging documents (ultrasound, scanner, MRI) and your health insurance card with you when you are hospitalized.
Bring the compression stockings.
They are essential for any surgical procedure because they reduce the risk of thrombosis.
We also ask you to avoid wearing jewellery and remove any nail polish, as well as not to take any valuables with you during your hospital stay.
